As the industrial stormwater reporting year under the General Permit comes to a close, it’s time to make sure all your ducks are in a row regarding recordkeeping and reporting requirements. The reporting year covers July 1 to June 30 and while there are some real-time reporting requirements (i.e. Ad Hoc reporting of sampling results within 30 days of test report), there are mandatory deadlines listed in the permit as well.
Upcoming deadlines:
July 1 – Start of the new reporting year (last date to remand any Ad Hoc data for previous reporting year without requiring Water Board approval is June 30).
July 15 – Annual Report is due in SMARTS for Notice of Intent (NOI) facilities.
October 1 – For those sites that enter into Level 1 status on July 1, the onsite Site Evaluation must be performed by a Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP).
October 1 – Annual Re-Certification is required in SMARTS for those sites who registered for No Exposure Certification (NEC) coverage.
January 1 – Exceedance Response Action (ERA) Reports, both Level 1 and Level 2, are to be prepared by a QISP and due in SMARTS by January 1.
ALG routinely works with companies, small and large, to prepare their annual reports and any required ERA site evaluations and reporting. We’ve got QISPs throughout the state ready to assist not only with routine reporting but that can also work with you to return to Baseline in the event your site is in either Level 1 or Level 2 status. Given ALG’s wide variety of clients (including aerospace, manufacturing, recycling, wineries, and distribution sites to name a few), we’ve been able to apply our extensive experience on stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and compliance to enable our clients to update their stormwater programs to make compliance more sustainable.
